What are the advantages/disadvantages of Google Chrome compared to Internet Explorer 9? I've heard a lot people say that Google Chrome is the best bet. Yet I don't know why. I've heard it's lighter, and loads pages faster. Is there anything I will lose/gain if I download this browser?|||Anyways, no, Google Chrome will ask to be your default browser, and just say yes or "Set as Default." There are disadvantages to Google Chrome, such as Google tracking everything you do (without personal info.) But Google Chrome has beautiful HTML5 and CSS3 support, and is constantly getting faster and more accurate at reading pages.
IE9 does have a major advantage: Hardware-Accelerated HTML5. It can use your actual hardware GPU to display graphics on pages more accurately and faster. Every other web browser uses Software Rendering of Graphics.

You can certainly use other browsers, and even use multiple browsers at the same time. You should know that IE9 is one of the fastest browsers available and has been rated the highest for blocking Malware. IE9 is compliant with new web standards and does a great job of rendering HTML5 websites. The new Hardware Acceleration it tightly integrated with Windows7 which makes it very fast.
