Cant download google chrome after uninstalling it and reinstalling?

i had chrome uninstalled it now trying to reinstall it it says its downloading but when finishes nothing happens tryed turning firewall off still no joy|||there should be no problem with the download.... click on the icon to download but do not run it save it to a place you can find on your pc and open it from there and run it...it should put a desktop icon on your desktop almost immediately if it doesn't start menu, programs find newly installed google chrome and left click shortcut it to desktop...good luck|||do you ever restart your comp after uninstalling.....no i dont|||Open control panel,go to programs then take a baseball bat to it(works a treat)!!!
